Hudson Valley Young Professionals: 2018 Kicks for College Kickball Tournament
Meyer Contracting had such a great time in 2017 that we decided to participate again for the 3rd Annual Kickball Tournament! Proceeds from the event benefited the Chamber Foundation’s Richard Mitchell Memorial Workforce Development Scholarship and the family of the former co-chair of the HVYP, James Lentz. James and Kayleigh’s son, Caleb, was born with medical complications and monies raised went towards assisting the family with ongoing medical bills. MCC played a great game but fell just short of winning the tournament to the Central Hudson team! A lot of fun was had by all while raising money for a great cause.

Twenty members of the Meyer Contracting family participated in the 2nd Annual Kicks for College Kickball Tournament hosted by the Dutchess County Chamber Foundation. This event raised money for the Richard W. Mitchell Memorial Workforce Development Scholarship which is awarded to a Dutchess County student to aid in the advancement of their education. Meyer Contracting was victorious in the final consolation round and looks forward to a shot at the title again next year!
Mental Health America of Dutchess County: Annual Indoor Golf Tournament
Meyer Contracting sponsored two foursomes that participated in the 6th annual indoor golf tournament held at DC Indoor Golf. Proceeds of this tournament went towards shelter services, educational and support programs along with raising general awareness for the MHA organization. All had a great time playing golf in the winter while supporting a great cause!
Hurricane Maria Relief Efforts
The U.S. Virgin Islands, specifically St. Croix, is a place that is very near and dear to Chris and Mary Beth’s hearts as they consider it a home away from home. When Category 5 Hurricane Maria hit the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico in September of 2017, Chris had to do what he does best and build! As soon as the airports became operational, nearly a month later, Chris packed a suitcase full of the essentials, including dry ice and two week’s worth of MREs, and headed down to the islands. Without the use of electricity, water and rationed amounts of fuel, he worked tirelessly to assist his neighbors and the town of Christiansted to get back up on its feet.
