Today Chris Meyer, who has stepped down to enjoy a well-earned retirement, wants you to meet the next generation, led by his son Alex Meyer, who is taking Meyer Contracting forward to an exciting new direction.
Alex is a 2024 Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce Forty Under 40 Honoree. The Forty Under 40 Mover & Shaker awards are bestowed annually to 40 individuals under the age of 40 who have shown a strong commitment to the Hudson Valley. A selection committee comprised of former honorees judge nominations based on professional and community achievements.
Quality Construction Done Right
One thing that won’t change in the future is Meyer’s dedication to construction excellence at predictable prices. So, we are sticking to our roots as leaders in commercial, municipal, education and green construction throughout the Mid-Hudson Valley. Despite the supply chain challenges our industry has faced, we have managed to prove time and again that our word is good, our workmanship is excellent, and our commitment to quality is unrelenting. You’ll see the name Meyer Contracting on the high visibility renovation of the Family Partnership Center in Poughkeepsie, whose architects, MASS Design, recently profiled on 60 Minutes.
Alex grew up working at Meyer and before taking over as CEO, he was site superintendent on the Clarkson University project at Dennings Point in Beacon, NY. Alex was responsible for the $2,000,000 rehab and conversion of an abandoned paperclip factory into an environmental science building. Phase 1 of construction included brick rebuilding, structural concrete piers, structural steel, elevator shaft, EPDM roof, metal roof, windows, concrete slab throughout, and metal parapet work. Alex has earned his chops at the construction site and in the board room and knows what it takes to get jobs done.
