Tarrytown Music Hall

Meyer Contracting Corporation was excited to be awarded yet another National Register historic preservation project.

The project included the structural and historic restoration of the Tarrytown a Music Hall, Tarrytown, N.Y. Meyer shored and supported in place nearly 40% of the existing building, removed and replaced the existing deteriorated foundation, completed interior and exterior building repairs, replaced all exterior doors and hardware, replaced roofing and exterior sheet metal and installed drainage and new parking lot paving.

Much of the project was performed while the building was occupied and work schedules were changed multiple times to accommodate weather, rehearsals and productions. The building was shut down for a “dark period” from August 1 thru September 10 where MCC crews worked 10-12 hour days, 6 days a week to shore and replace structure at the stage and North walls.

MCC scaffolded the entire front of the building on downtown Main Street in order to replace roof slates, complete wood restoration of windows, soffits and trim and paint most of the building. MCC had to maintain egress to the building, maintain pedestrian sidewalk traffic and had to design the scaffolding around the existing marquis which was a significant challenge that MCC overcame.
