Vassar College Sanders Physics Building – LEED Certified
The Sanders Physics building was a complete historic renovation of the 26,000 sf classroom building on the beautiful campus of Vassar College.
Some of the highlights of the renovation included exterior masonry restoration, complete with restoration of the limestone stairs, a new roof structure with new copper battens and standing seam roof, existing window restoration, new skylights, new wood windows, new structural steel stairs with precast concrete stair treads, hardwood floors, lab casework with upgrades to all mechanical, plumbing, sprinkler and electrical systems.
With the complexity of all the new components and the attempt to maintain the historical integrity of the building, this work involved constant attention to detail and coordination between trades.
